This scheme was introduced with effect from 1st July, 2010 to provide financial assistance to the widow / legal heirs of an in-service Government servant in the event of death, at the following rates:

The grant is disbursed through Online Payment directly in the Grantees' Bank A/C.
This scheme has replaced the earlier Monthly Grant scheme in respect of deceased Government servants. However, cases running under the old Monthly Grant scheme (15-years) continued as per the terms and conditions already prescribed for it, and any case relating to a period prior to 1st July, 2010 shall be settled under the old Monthly Grant Rules.
The facility of Monthly Grant for the un-availed period of 15 years, in the event of death after retirement, has likewise been discontinued with effect from 1st July, 2010.
